Where to Stay in Kertasari?

#1 - Living on Air - Digital Nomad's haven

Price point: Mid-tier.

Best internet in West Sumbawa, cosy Bali style cottages, restaurant with a great variety of dishes, and a popular evening hang spot.

Set in a beautiful and peaceful palm grove by the beach promenade, natural grass softening your barefoot steps.

Co-working area, pool, beach volley, ping pong table, community events. A solid choice.

#2 - Bukit Samudra - The ultimate surfers' choice

Price point: Mid-tier.

Gorgeous wooden bungalows overlooking Moro Bay (you can keep an eye on the breaks 24/7), has become 'the' hangout spot for surfers.

Restaurant is one of our fave restos in the area, with hearty portions and reasonable prices. View from the resto's terrace is Instagram worthy. Weekly live music, cosy bean bags, green, leafy garden.

Another solid, solid choice for your stay.

#3 - Kertasari Lodge - The LUXE experience

Price point: Top-tier.

Ok, so the Lodge is the place for those who want to splash out a little and get the fanciest experience you can get here in Kertasari. Infinity pool, sweeping views over the bay, top tier rooms, fine dining resto.

Perfect for a romantic stay, or if you just like your holiday with a touch of the good life.

Best sunset in in the area hands down (excluding our beach cafe sunset ;) ), so head for golden hour drinks, or alternatively have your breakfast here and just enjoy the view.

#4 - Kurniawan Homestay 2 - No-nonsense diver's spot

Price point: Mid-to-lower-tier.

This homestay is right next to our dive shop right by the beach. It's new, has amazing ocean view, clean and bright rooms looking over to the sea. Delivers and has great bang for your buck rate. If you are a diver and want a pragmatic and sensible place to rest your weary head at, this would be it. Great, great location, does what it's supposed to.

Small resto offers local foods for a very reasonable price, and for any additional vibe, you can come hang at our beach. ;)

#5 - Lafrin Brothers - The 'works for everyone' spot

Price point: Mid-to-lower-tier.

Ok, so this one is a crowd pleaser. It doesn't profile to any specific audience, it kinda pleases everyone. Very new, overlooking Moro Bay, with a big pool, big resto and INSANE views over the bay. Rooms are spacious and bright and the hotel itself is one of the biggest ones in the area.

If one had to recommend for one type of audience, then we'd stay this is a great hotel for families.

What we love is when something just delivers, is esthetically pleasing, but doesn't overdo it. This would be it.

#6 - Whales & Waves - The ultimate choice for families

Price point: Mid-to-top-tier.

Our neightbours! W&W is the OG hotel in the village, it's been standing here for a good while, and its spacious, spacious green grounds in the big palm grove is a family favourite. Also sitting by the beach promenade with an ocean view, this would be number one pick for families. There are loads of activities and room to roam for children, and grown ups an wax their boards, do yoga, go for a dive, or just chill and read in a hammock without having to worry about or entertain.

Very spacious bungalows, sitting in a lush green grove. A big restaurant overlooks the ocean, this is also a good spot for bigger groups.

#7 - Coco Mimpi - Nr 1 choice for friend groups

Price point: Mid-tier.

Hansel & Gretel -gore meets tropical island vibes. The two cottages sit in a spacious palm grove, also by the beach promenade, and this place is absolutely perfect for a group of friends.

Loads of space, great views, PRIVACY (that's a luxury you can't get in many places around here), the whole place all to yourselves. A stone pizza oven and a BBQ outside with a spacious seating area is great for a cookout, while some of you play beach volley on the grass, some play badminton (yes, it has that much space), and some just chill in a hammock.

This is where I'd book for a group, 100%.

Obviously there are more options. Obviously there are more budget friendly options too. Obviously there are new places opening up monthly.
