How to Get to Kertasari

Travelling to West Sumbawa is not as complicated as it first sounds. Let us guide you through it

1 . How do I get there?

How to get to Kertasari:

• ​It takes 2,5 h on the ferry between Lombok and Sumbawa, and it’s a scenic ride. Kayangan port in East Lombok - Poto Tano port in North-West Sumbawa.

• You can drive your scooter onto the ferry and skeddadle quickly on the other side (30 mins drive to Sumbawa Adventure office from Poto Tano port)

• ​Equally so you can drive your car onto the ferry

• Getting a taxi on one or the either side? You can simply walk into the ferry and get picked up on the other side.

There’s even a bus service between Mataram, Lombok, and Taliwang (nearest town to us)​

​From Mataram to Taliwang:

1.⁠ ⁠DAMRI, government owned bus company, operates between 9am and 9pm (rp 110K)

2.⁠ ⁠⁠Trans Taliwang, 8am, 1pm, 3pm and 7pm (rp 125k)

3.⁠ ⁠⁠Sekongkang trans, 8am, 3pm and 8pm (rp 125k)

2. Coming from Sumbawa Besar (airport or Moyo)?

• ​Take a taxi/scooter taxi to Sumbawa Besar bus station (a few kilometers out of town to the main high way), the buses to Taliwang run roughly every hour (around 35k)

• Once in Taliwang you can get a taxi/scooter to Kertasari or let us know you're coming and we'll arrange you here to us. ❤️ We can also arrange a pick up from Poto Tano port for you, the taxi from there is around 350-400k.

If possible, come with your own locomotive. You'll need wheels here, trust us.

Scooter is the best bet, the roads are beautiful but narrow. You'll enjoy your drive a lot more on two wheels rather than four. Up to you. But do have plan in place for transport as distances are long here, and Sumbawa is not a walkable destination. Even here in Kertasari you'll need wheels to get from one place to another.
