OUR VALUES AND PEOPLE WE TRAVEL WITH
We believe that adventure should be more than just a thrill - it should also be a force for good.
Our trips are for curious, open-minded adventurers who want to explore Sumbawa with heart, purpose, and respect. Whether you're diving in the deep, hiking a volcano, or sharing stories with locals, you’ll be part of a movement that puts nature, culture, and community first.
We walk our talk in practice.
Here's how:
-
We partner with local service providers wherever possible, keeping money in the community and helping Sumbawans build strong, sustainable livelihoods. We pay in full for services and do not haggle for discounts.
-
We reject single-use plastic across all trips and at Moyo and Kertasari accommodations, where you'll find filtered water stations, reusable containers, and zero plastic packaging.
-
We take part in community outreach events, from beach cleanups to nature & culture conservation talks, and we support local organizations & schools to support sustainability education.
-
We support initiatives that help train and mentor locals who dream of becoming guides, dive professionals, or hosts - equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and language skills to thrive in eco-tourism and become proud stewards of their land and sea.
We welcome people who:
-
Respect local cultures and are open to learning
-
Care about the planet and choose low-impact ways to explore
-
Are kind, adaptable, and community-minded
-
Understand that true adventure means stepping off the beaten track with humility
This is travel with intention. If that speaks to you, you’re exactly the kind of person
we’d love to have on this journey. ❤️
FAQ
1 . How do I get there?
How to get to Kertasari:
-
It takes 2,5 h on the ferry between Lombok and Sumbawa, and it’s a scenic ride. Kayangan port in East Lombok - Poto Tano port in North-West Sumbawa.
-
You can drive your scooter onto the ferry and skeddadle quickly on the other side (30 mins drive to Living on Air base camp from Poto Tano port)
-
Equally so you can drive your car onto the ferry
-
Getting a taxi on one or the either side? You can simply walk into the ferry and get picked up on the other side
There’s even a bus service between Mataram, Lombok, and Taliwang (nearest town to us)
-
From Mataram to Taliwang:
1. DAMRI, government owned bus company, operates between 9am and 9pm (rp 110K)
2. Trans Taliwang, 8am, 1pm, 3pm and 7pm (rp 125k)
3. Sekongkang trans, 8am, 3pm and 8pm (rp 125k)
Coming from Sumbawa Besar (airport or Moyo)?
-
Take a taxi/scooter taxi to Sumbawa Besar bus station (a few kilometers out of town to the main high way), the buses to Taliwang run roughly every hour (around 35k)
Once in Taliwang you can get a taxi/scooter to Kertasari or let us know you're coming and we'll arrange you here to us. ❤️ We can also arrange a pick up from Poto Tano port for you, the taxi from there is around 350-400k.
It sounds more complicated than it actually is, trust us.

01.
Total freedom, mix and match
Choose exactly how many surfs, dives, treks, or chill days you want. No fixed itineraries, no inflated packages. Just the freedom to do as much (or as little) as you like.
Mix and match your adventure.
In terms of intensity, level of experience, time, mood...Your call.
02.
Worry not about logistics, enjoy the road less travelled
Hidden gems stay hidden without local knowledge. Transport in this vast, mainly uninhabitated island is expensive and logistics can be a headache.
We’ve spent time getting to know the people, places, and rhythms of this coastline. You’ll dive sites few have seen, surf uncrowded breaks, and trek paths that to this day are still not on the map.
03.

We’re building an adventure base where you can land, breathe, and roam.
